Artistic Endeavor

I've always envisioned a mix use space that serves great beer and showcases others artistic talents.  I have two tiny store fronts and hope to have a local artist work in the second space during the work week while we are closed.  The ultimate vision is having a couple artists working in the space during the day so people can walk by and watch them through the window.  We also hope to display art for sell in this room as well.

I'd love to have a gallery hop on a quarterly basis with multiple small artist displaying their work and being on hand to meet the public.

I hope the city pulls through for us.

Another Grinder

Well today finds myself with the usual hassles.  I work full time(and then some at times).  I try to work on my space after hours.  So I'm limited to what I can get done in a day.  I'm feverishly trying to prepare for the Health Department Inspection and I just don't have time.  The problem is every day of delay adds to the the time it takes to get licensed and potentially making money.

I have a local distributor and certified Cicerone coming by tomorrow to give me input on my space.  Should be exciting.  They reviewed my plans and like what I have going on.  It will be great to pick the brain of someone who sees all the other guys pluses and minuses.  This is free of charge.  Can't beat that with a big Ol' Stick.

3-D Design Mock up of Bar Layout

I wish I could say that this was the design I envisioned.  But it's not.  It is however part of the overall process so I decided to make a post including the pics.

There are basically two versions just using different wall colors and seat options.  So the space isn't as big as all the pics make it look.  Just two spaces.  For example focus on the pictures with the yellow walls as a rendering of the bar as a whole.

Second Run of New Logo

This is the first time I've had someone actually work on the design.  The artist is a Louisville born native.  Part of our goal at Old Louisville Brewhouse is to promote community and the arts.  I desperately wanted to have a local artist be involved in the development of certain scopes of this bar.  Well, I hit the jackpot.  All I'll say at this point is Matilda or 'Tilda as she is known, knocked it out the park on the first go round. The fact that she darn near nailed my mental image without ever having input from me is truly astounding.  I hope you all like it.
